Social Media Etiquette

Hair By Chrissy Vs Notfamous  Social Media Etiquette   (video) (I apologize for how lengthy it is I wanted to give enough background information!)     In this video I explain a recent issue that was all over TikTok of a young woman who paid almost $4000 to get her hair done by a famous hairstylist. You may wonder why it was so expensive and it's because Chrissy is a celebrity stylist and she does hair in California and Arizona for her well known media stars. This young girl knew the price tag before going but what happened at the salon on her appointment day was far from the treatment she expected.      Notfamous (the young woman's TikTok handle) was expected to have her hair DONE by Chrissy. She goes on to explain how when she arrived at the salon she was greeted by Chrissy for maybe 40 seconds and then she had 10 of Chrissy's assistants completing her entire appointment with Chrissy nowhere to be found. In the video you'll see just how much th...

GOOD VS BAD WEBSITE

GOOD VS BAD WEBSITE PART 1: TARGET PART 2: DHGate     For my good website I chose Target. I have been a frequent Target shopper for many years have the app and scroll online often for daily needs. Target is a safe website in my opinion because I haven't felt harassed by their notifications or their marketing within my emails. I feel comfortable with them having access to my personal information such as my address, email, birthday and even my card information. Their customer support team are usually friendly and oftentimes offer great support effectively and efficiently.      For my bad website I chose DHGate . I have never personally bought anything off this website because I haven't ever felt comfortable with anything I've seen displayed on their website. As mentioned in part 2 of my video I feel as though there website is very busy and offer items for ridiculously cheap prices. It makes me question the quality and their intentions. ...

Learning to Learn   After reading the Learning in the Classroom section in Chapter 3 of  The Connected Educator I found it fascinating. They used the example of people homeschooling and still within their homes following the same exact school model. The desks being replicas the scheduling modeling that of an actual school schedule. If you're given the opportunity to home school and really make a difference in education why would you follow exactly what's already be ing done in those free public schools.                                              ...

Web tool smackdown!

WEB TOOL SMACKDOWN The web tool I selected to do my presentation on was Kahoot! While in high school I felt it was utilized quite often and can still remember the excitement on the days the teachers would tell us to take out our phones because we were doing a review on Kahoot. Learning should be fun and engaging and I feel this is a great tool to have in your pocket as an educator. This would apply to many students learning styles and also allows the more shy students to feel more comfortable or at ease participating in large group activities.  I feel Kahoot is an amazing resource for teachers to use to test various topics and subjects within their classrooms. As shown in the video with the free version of Kahoot there a various pre-made games made that could possibly relate to you topic or standards you may be responsible for facilitating that week. There is also the flexibility for you to create and customize your own Kahoot! You can add in pictures of the things your stud...

Using Tools to Support Connected Learning      After reading Chapter 5 in The Connected Educator I really enjoyed this chapter personally. I really enjoyed the various tools that were presented through the chapter and after doing slight research on them all I could see them all being extremely useful in my daily life. With the usage of websites like delicious (I found this name hysterical) and diigo they make for such easy and accessible resources to keep you and your website usage organized.      As an education major having the accessibility to google docs and things like classroom 2.0 are essential. I liked the idea of Classroom 2.0 being a tool for educators world wide. It allows people to connect and share new resource...

Video Pt 1 Video Pt 2 Source: https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/     The app I chose for my smackdown presentation was TeacherPayTeachers. This app is a resource for teachers all over the globe. Within the app there are various tabs with different subjects you will be teaching within your classroom. Within these tabs you are able to select grades from Pre K to High school for supplemental activities and resources you can use or share within your classroom.      I hold this resource very near and dear to my heart and have used it various times in my 10 years I've worked with kiddos. You can find anywhere from classroom decor, addition and subtraction activities and even games for your students in any subject. When you purchase or download these resources you're supporting another educator like yourself and creating a connected community just like in the chapter six reading. This site allows teachers to build each other up and support one another while gai...
