Post 1: Chapter 2
I found Chapter 2 of The Connected Educator by Sheryl Nussbaum- Beach quite interesting. This chapter had themes of connected learning communities, the differences between personal and professional learning networks, and the drive for diversity. Exploring these different themes and how they're important in different ways of education was necessary to build the readers general background of new vocabulary as well as why it may be important to note. Within professional learning communities they focus on working together in grades, departments, and district wide teams to ensure a students achievement. On the flip side personal learning networks focus on the gathering of information to benefit ones self. While professional learning mainly focuses on the benefit of the school it's necessary to collect the results within the school to help with building a personal learning network.
